BO 4.2 client on CITRIX with SAP authentication

Hello,
We’ve a CITRIX environment where all BO client tools are installed including Internet Explorer Browser. We’ve setup SAP authentication in CMC.
When we login to BI launch pad or CMC using IE the login is breeze, no issue at all. We just select Authentication type as SAP from the drop down list and we get extra boxes to fill for "SAP System: " and “SAP Client:” as well as other default boxes like “System, User Name, and Password” so login is fine on browser.
We are now trying to use BO client tools (WebI RC, Designer, IDT), but when we select Authentication type as “SAP” nothing changes, no extra box appears, which, then, fails our login.
Anyone has experienced working on BO 4.2 client tools in CITRIX environment with SAP authentication? How do you fix the client tools issue?
Unfortunately, our laptop does not have any BO client installed and we are not allowed to download any software from browser, including WebI RC from BI launch pad.

Please let me know if anyone has experienced this issue.

Thanks,

Why are you guys going that route?

BO Client Tool is a resource hog, and based on the number of users, will have several issues.

Btw, did you install the App on Citrix Server? When you login to the server directly, does the option work? If not, can you check the version of Java Installed on that server?

wish I could answer why :frowning: No one knows here how BO works and that’s sad. the person who is a BO administrator has no knowledge of BO :frowning:

Why are you guys going that route? My guess is that because of security, SAP license, and number of developers in the system made them to go this route. I’m a new BO (Solo BO knowledge) guy here and trying to see how it works.

BO Client Tool is a resource hog, and based on the number of users, will have several issues.
I’ve created all necessary developer access which works perfectly fine for all developers when using launchpad but we’d like to have WebI RC tool working as well so we can upload documents from one environment to another, otherwise it’s not possible through BI launch pad.

Btw, did you install the App on Citrix Server?
Yes, It’s installed there.
When you login to the server directly, does the option work? If not, can you check the version of Java Installed on that server?
Unfortunately, I don’t have all system level info to test and that’s what I’m trying to find out from BO admin who does not know anything :frowning:
What I know is the App is installed. unfortunately does not show SAP info when you select “SAP” from authentication drop down window.

Hi there

In case you havent figured it out.

I think you need to add a different syntax to your username. you need to include the system and the client in the username. All the client tools isnt SAPIFIED.

for ex SYSTEM~CLIENT\username

Good luck

Bjorn,
I haven’t been able to figure this out yet, and absolutely had no idea on how to do it.

But you made my day, that works like a charm. I will put this on my resume

Thank you! You rock man!

I’ll restart this thread as I’m seeing really unusual behavior using WebI RC within CITRIX.

Bjorn or anyone familiar with Citrix, any report I pull from repository using WebI RC in Citrix takes somewhere 15 - 20 minutes. And report refresh takes another 20 - 25 minutes then every single click to object dimension adds another 5-10 minutes. So all together it takes an hour to open, refresh, and see what’s in the report, and I’ve not tried to edit the report query yet :frowning:
Any idea what could cause this issue and how to troubleshoot it?

If I use BI launch pad browser within Citrix, all this process takes just about 10 minutes, still a lot of time but much better than WebI RC.

Anyone has experienced this?
