BI 4.1 SP7 incompatible with BODS 4.2 SP7

Hello All,

I installed above packages. CMS is working fine but when I open universe designer tools it errors out saying “(IRepo Access::Retreive Auth mode Infos) Class not registered” and then it hangs there saying internal error and when I open BODS designer it says “unable to locate boe platform components”(I tried replacing the BCM-4-0.dll but that did not help).
Interesting thing I noticed, date modified for BCM-4-0.dll in win64_x64 folder is 11/2/2015 and the one in link_dir is 4/27/2016.

Can anyone please help me about this. SAP says that these are compatible but it is not working for me. I am installing them on Windows 2012 R2 server 64 bit.

Any help guys… it is still not working on that server :hb: Could it be related to permissions? :roll_eyes:

Must be permission related I think - because we’ve done several installations and upgrades of IPS 4.1 SP07 with DS 4.2 SP07 and didn’t have any such problems. (Other than the missing BOE components message which was fixed by copying that DLL across.)

I know that this isn’t very helpful (as in, this isn’t a solution to your problem) but I can say for certain that IPS 4.1 SP07 works fine with DS 4.2 SP07.

I’m with Erik. I upgraded a DS 4.1 SP4 (I think) instance to DS 4.2 SP7 and no upgrade of IPS was required. However, this was IPS, not BOE.

My experience is you do not mix BOE client tools with DS client tools on the same machine. The libraries are not compatible. It seems development teams at SAP do not talk to each other and have different versions of the libraries.
