BI 4.1 Auditing

How do I find out what BOBJ report/activity is actually occurring; what is System Account? Almost daily, we are seeing a spike in CPU that seems to point to BOBJ. Activity universe gives this report… see attachment…this activity is corresponding with spike in CPU usage on system where our database is located. We see jobs running on the system hosting database using the account set up via the universe connection. Data is DB2… BOBJ is 4.1 sandbox…The actual time of day is around 4AM (BOBJ report shows GMT) and there are no users on at that time. We have checked for schedule instances of reports and have not found any.

Just guessing:

  1. Could it be the Platform search?
  2. Could it be a probe running?
  3. Could it be a scheduled event?

I didn’t see your patch level, but we had some issues too with 4.1 SP 1 Patch 3 and that improved with Patch 8. We also noted that Web Intelligence servers were randomly restarting a few times a day even when no thresholds were breached and were accompanied by a variety of API errors when running reports with prompts. We also noted that we’d see the Auditing CPU Threshold approach or peg at 100% due to corrupted Audit files (likely due to large Paths+Titles exceeding 255 chars). If you cleanup the Audit files on each Auditee, it would fix it until another long entry froze it up again.
