BEx mandatory variable in Dashboard

Hi Guys…
this is very simple one, hope you can answer it easily !

(I am using dashboard designer, BO4, SP3)

I have 5 queries in dashboard and all of them are returning result as per the month selected. I have a mandatory BEx variable in all 5 queries (say Fisc Month). Now I want a combo-box (or similar component) on dashboard which allows user to select month.
In the dashboard I created, Query Browser pannel shows Month mandatory variable in “Prompt” section for the query… but does not allow me to bind that to spreadsheet.

(Prompt > Select Month > Connect to Spreadsheet > Selected Values - this is disabled. “Insert List of values” is enabled though)

What is the solution ?

Pls see screenshot showing “Selected Values” as disabled. So I cant map that to spread sheet.

Any solution ?

Query Browser is behaving very differently every time you open the .xlf file.
Just try building the query once again.

Solution…

  1. Maintain MONTH as a mandatory variable in BEx level.
2)Please find the Connection type through the Query browser.
3)From components select “QUERY PROMPT SELECTOR”, from component properties select the filter(MONTH) and Query.(this component will act as a combo box). you can use the additional component options also.

That is a known issue that you cannot bind bex variable values to the spreadsheet in 4.0.
try using “Query Prompt Selectors” to solve this issue.

This issue is being resolved from 4.1 onwards. So you can again start binding your Bex Variables to the spreadsheet.
