BEst Practice on stop/start Webi Jobserver from batch

Dear all.

just dealing with the migration XIr2 => XIr31 in most current version and thinking about the behaviour between Finished all imported Data by BODS and starting the scheduled Jobs by WEBI, both installed on same W2003 Server 64Bit.

In the old system we stopped the jobserver at midnight and started a batch by BODI containing:
net start “Web Intelligence Job Server”

As far as i read this will not work in 3/3.1 but i’m sure othes ran into same trouble, so what will be best practice.

BTW, i know the SAP Notes where you can stop SIA using

NET start/stop “BOE120SIABOXIR3”

but this is not wanted, we just want to start/stop or maybe enable/disable the process of scheduled Jobs.

So, any Ideas on that? How do you start the process of scheduled jobs after importing in the morning?

Thanx in advance
Christian

Check out this topic or do a search for the word managedstart.

thanks,

i know that topic but isn’t it only a possibility to start/stop the SIA - or is it also possibile to only disable the scheduled Jobs

You can start/stop individual servers using ccm.exe. Type ccm -help from a command line and you will see the options available to you. To stop scheduled jobs you would stop the appropriate job server.
