BCA Problem - 'A system error occurred while starting a ne

duler process’

Hi,

We have installed Web Intelligence 2.5.1 and BCA and a problem occurs when trying to monitor a BCA from Webi Administrator. After selecting ‘Monitor one more Broadcast Agent’, ‘Refresh BCA list’ and entering a General Supervisor login, the Broadcast Agent list is displayed as expected. However, when we select one on the Broadcast Agents in the list and enter the password for it, we then get the following error, ‘Failed - A system error occurred while starting a new scheduler process.’ We have BCA set up on another machine and are able to monitor Broadcast Agents from here without any problems. Has anyone else come across this error or suggest what may be causing this problem?

Thanks, Dave.

Hmmm… sounds like a problem on the server to me. You might check the event log and see if there are any clues there. Just a thought.

Have you ever gotten a satisfactory explanation of this? I’m now having the same problem when trying to install BCA on a new server.

Thanks,

Joel

How about this for starters?

I checked the password as mentioned in the link and in the Resolution Entry 3966 but no luck.

Does anyone knows what to do in case of this error.

Thanks

A few versions back, I received this message while using an unsupported Service Pack for Windows 2000. We uninstalled the Service Pack and reinstalled WebI and it solved the problem. This could point to the reinstall of WebI or getting to a supported SP (supported by BusObj).

Thanks I will check on that

I am using Windows 2000 Server SP Pack 4 and BO Server 5.1.3

Any idea whether its compatible or not.

Thanks again

  1. You could always look up the PAR (Product Availability Report) on the Business Objects tech support site (requires maintenance contract).

  2. I believe Win 2K SP 4 is not supported for Business Objects 5.1.3

Andreas,

I checked in the PAR but there is no information for BO 5.1.3
Looks like you are right, since the WIn 2K SP4 is not even supported in BO 5.1.8

Any other way of getting this info for BO SP3.

Thanks
Reema
