Audits Report for Universe, Database and Server Connections

Hi all,

I’m currently going through a cleanup of Business Objects. As part of this I’ve used Designer to review the number of universe connections we have and they’re astronomical.

What I’m hoping is that there is a single audit report out there (or one which can be built) that will be able to produce a list of all connections and which universes connect to what. In my minds eye it would contain current information like Connection Name, Database, Network Layer, Database Engine, Reporting Server, and Universes which use them.

Any ideas? Thanks!

What type of reports are in your deployment?

We’ve developed a report that clearly lists unused Universes and Connections as they pertain to Webi and FullClient reports. You might want to check it out (it’s free).

Hy to everybody. I use this query to select all the webi reports of an universe SELECT TOP 10000 si_id, si_name,SI_AUTHOR,SI_LAST_RUN_TIME,SI_PARENTID, SI_ISTANCE from ci_appobjects, ci_infoobjects where PARENTS("SI_NAME='Webi-Universe'", "SI_NAME='NAME_OF_THE_UNIVERSE'") it works perfectly, but it select all the report, also the istances. I would like to take only the main reports…how i can edit this query to find it? Thanks in advance flavio20002 (BOB member since 2010-03-23)

Once you install the driver, the report of interest will be called:

Universe-Reports-Connections-CE2_2632.wid

Thanks Atul. I’ll give your report a look - it looks quite handy as a resource for many things other than my specific project.

We only use Webi, but I was hoping/assuming/dreaming that Designer might have something available in it.
