We’ve been using Client Access Express V4R4 SF64474 with OS V5R1 for some time now, without problems (we’re actually also still using the old Client Access on some clients, with latest service packs installed). When upgrading the OS to V5R1, I had to conclude that the latest Client Access service packs need to be installed on each client for BO to work properly (especially with respect to document exchange).

The reason I originally asked this question is because I tested Business Objects using CAE V5R1 with latest SF on OS V5R1 and it does not work. I have received errors ranging from Unhandled Exception errors (ODBC related) all the way to “Internal Problem” and the BO software will not even launch. I opened a case with BO and here’s their response:
“CAE 5 and OS/400 v5 is to start BETA testing in December, and, tentatively, scheduled for January release - this is far from official, and subject to change.”
I also talked with an IBM rep at the users conference this week, and he told me he thought the problem had been fixed. It appears that I’m hearing conflicting answers from both IBM and BO. I will be further contacting both for clarification.
I also experienced some inconsistent results when testing CAE V4R5 SF 65345 with OS V5R1, but did not test V5R1 using CAE V4R4. I will try that next. Thanks for your response.
