Has anyone heard any updated ETA for 61b for AIX? Last I heard was that it should follow the Windows release by two weeks or so, which should have had it out around May 2. Still no signs of it on the download site, although it is mentioned in various places in the 61b documentation. We were holding off on 61a since 61b was almost out…
Am I the only one out there waiting for 61b for AIX? Has anyone heard anything about an ETA? I asked my new rep to follow up, but no response from him either… it’s now more than a month after 61b on Windows…
Oh - I see. I don’t know what number AIX is supposed to be able to handle. Is it in the documentation anywhere? It looks to me like the UNIX documentation is all available (including variations for AIX), which makes the absence of the software itself all the more frustrating.
Amy,
Did you get 6.1b installed? We have it on a test environment, and after a lot of help from tech support, we finally got it running from an upgrade of 6.1a. Now, I’m planning to remove it completely and start with 6.1b from scratch. There is no way I’m putting this into production.
Well, first time around we had a problem, which we thought was due to RAM (we only have 1 gig, requirements call for 2). Then again, got through the install and wstart ok, but now am getting an http 500 error after I log in. So, we haven’t even really tried to test yet.
We run Websphere and Apache on the same box. The upgrade totally messed this configuration up. We had to manually modify the settings for Websphere because the wdeploy couldn’t get it configured correctly. The upgrade was a bad idea from what I understand. This is why I want to completely remove all copies of WebI from this box and try 6.1b from scratch. They say it’s supposed to be a cleaner install, so I have to see. I haven’t even applied the fixes yet that were recommended. I’d like to get through a clean install first. It took over 3 weeks to get logged in. I couldn’t refresh documents from the 6.1a install, so I thought 6.1b would make things better.
