I’m having the same issue with BO XI 3.1 (No service packs nor fix packs).

It is not just when editing any analytic but if I get into Dashboard & Analytics setup as well I have the same problem.

I’ve tried installing different versions of java, but the issue still persists.

Any help would be really appreciated!

for me It was browser setting issue. I was using IE7, but no matter how much i tried to configure it, i could not get it to work.

So i downgraded to IE6.

You can also check it on mozilla, it should be working.

Also you need to have Java version same as that of BO server, or Latest java version.

FYI… Issue partially resolved with a workaround. Yes with Mozilla it did work!! Thanks!!

We have java 6 update 3 installed on our production box. So installed the same version on my workstation to check. But failed. Still had the same issue.

Another test I did was on our dev server where I removed the java from the server and with java 6 update 3 installed on my pc, i was able to edit the analytic without any issue. So it doesn’t really matter to have the same version of java on both server as well as on the workstation.

I figured out that the issue was with IE. I installed firefox and now I’m able to edit the analytic without any issues but the proble still persists with IE. I’ll dig out the security patches that were applied for IE both on the server & on my pc which might have caused this.

Has anyone found a resolution to this and/or identified which IE KB is causing this?
