Alias Name for Object?

Hi friends,
Today i found a new problem in my reports.

I have restricted access in production reports.
The problem is: When I select a object [ABC] from the universe and click on RUN, the name of the object changes to [XYZ].

Do we have any concept of alias names for object in BO? I tried searching for this BOB, but i found no results.

Please let me know if any one knows about this concept.

I donā€™t think we have it. But I donā€™t know why the name changes. Did you try creating a new report with the same object?

Is there a translation in the universe?

Did you check in your data source?? Universe alsoā€¦

To know still the same name exist or it got changed.

The object Name in Universe is still ABC only.

Even in Edit Query, I see name as [ABC]
But when i run the report, i see the name as [XYZ].

Could you please post the screen shot? Did you try creating a new report with this problematic object?

i tried Creating New report with that single object. It is still changing.

There is a new translation manager in XI 3.x Universe Designer allowing user to see ā€˜translatedā€™ text for the objects based on your language preference. Perhaps someone was playing around with thisā€¦

Change your language preference temporarily to French and see if you have the same issueā€¦

We havenā€™t moved to XI 3.x.

we are still using XI R2 with SP3.

Stupid question - are you sure itā€™s not just that somebody has overtyped the text in the column header to show XYZ?

Its not a stupid question Mr Debbie. MIght be a problem also but not so inthis case. Its a bug with BO and has been raised to the core SAP team and it has been escalated to the product team. Just a FYI.
