adding named users

I am on BO XI 3.1
I have 5
(BusinessObjects Web Intelligence XI 3.0 Windows Named User License)
In the CMC under License keys --I added the license key information.
I then try to added a named user in the CMC under the "user and Groups tab. There is a section called connection type. There are two options:
1)Concurrent
2) Named User
I try to add the named user but the button is greyed out.

Any suggestions please

Has the license expired? You should only be able to make named users.

No it is a brand new license. I am new to this so I was wondering if I was missing a step. Thanks for the reply

I believe that you need to have a specific type of Crystal Reports Server license to create a ‘named user’ - not just the concurrent user license.

We are also only able to choose ‘concurrent user’ - ‘named user’ is grayed out. If you do have a license for this, you need to add the license key to CRS.

I have 3 types of keys

  1. BusinessObjects Enterprise Premium XI 3.0 Windows CAL License
  2. BusinessObjects Web Intelligence XI 3.0 Windows Named User License
  3. Crystal Reports 2008

The first two I already added.
It won’t let me add a named user

I tried to add the third license and it returned the following error.

License Key Error: Invalid Key

is the key you mentioned different from the three above.

Thanks,

Our licenses are different. We have the CAL license for the server licensing, but we only have the ‘named user’ license for Crystal Reports Professional XI. Your 3rd license gave you the error because it’s for Crystal Reports, not the web and server stuff.

Business Objects licensing is confusing and you may need to clarify exactly what that second license you listed is for. Searching in B.O.B. for licensing issues brings up some detail that may help you. Sorry I couldn’t be more help!
