Adding dim objects to cube universe possible?

Hi,

I`ve developed universe on sql server cube using MSAS 2000
I could see all the class and objects available in cube in the universe.
But when I try to create a new object, the report i get the following error

“An internal error occured while calling 'processDpcommands’API(Error:ERR_WIS_30270)”

Can anybody tell me if we can add objects to the universe created on cube.

for eg… we have a date object, I`m trying to get year from that using substr function.

Also let me know if we can add an object for currentdate or system date. if so can any one tell me how?

Is this a problem with MSAS 2000?
I see lot of syntax and formula for predefined filter and dim objects in user guide…
