Accessing Pronto Driver ODBC Connection in Infoview

We’ve been given some legacy reports that connect to a Pronto database. To access this we were given a specific driver (client coftware) that creates an ODBC connection that the reports hook into. I can get this working on my Laptop (after loading client there), and after loading the driver to the BOE Server I can get the reports to run on the server itself with Crystal, however when I load up to Infoview, the reports don’t run - they just seem to hang. I’m a little confused on what parameters I should have in the database tab in the CMC. My thoughts were:

Database Type: ODBC
Server: FRED — this is the DSN Name …is this right?
User: Database_login
Passwrod: Password

Is it right to have the DSN Name in the Server, or should this be blank?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey,

Yep, for an ODBC connection the DSN name is the server name so you are right. But that doesn`t solve your problem does it. You have tested with CR on the boxi server which is a good test and sounds like your DSN is ok. Only think I could think of is that you setup the ODBC dsn on the server as a user DSN, not a System DSN. Thats not the case is it?

G’day,

Thanks for that.

Yes, I’ve set it up as a System DSN…back to the drawing board…

Any other suggestions?
