I am encountering issues with a BO app that I have inherited. It is version 6.1B running on Windows2000 server. Here are the issues/messages I’m getting:
When logging in to WEBI, I get the main screen and click the login button. Then I get the error message: 503 Service Unavailable
If I go to the URL for the Admin Console and enter the Admin user id and password, I get this error: The Administration Console can’t connect to the security domain. (error: ADC 00072)
I have read several posts and they recommend logging into the Admin.exe. When I try this the window pops open and instantly closes. I had the server rebooted 3 times last night as this generally clears any errors I get, but that didn’t help last night.
I am and XI developer and am not very familiar with this version of BO. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Are the web/application servers up and running - ie can you access the web servers default page.
Did you stop webi cleanly?
If the error persists - it’s quicker / easier to just recreate the Cluster/ORB - 20 minutes.
6.1b is a nasty release - buggy - upgrade to 6.1.3.
As I mentioned previously, I do XI and not V.6, so I’m not sure what a “cluster/ORB” is or how you recreate it.
Currently the WEBI server (services) state “server is starting” it never appears to get to “Started” or “Running”.
Is there a directory I can check to see what my Web servers should be? The app is running java-based WEBI, so I assume Apache/Tomcat, but would like to valid that in a file listing.
Also, I am unable to login to full-client on my desktop. I can run it on the server but I get the error “the server returned an invalid or unrecognized response”.
So any help on recreating the cluster/orb is appreciated and/or anything on upgrading to 6.1.3
BO Support was able to walk me through creating a new nodes folder and recreating/updating ORB/cluster. It was painful, but bottom-line everything is back up and running. I can sleep easier tonight…
The apparent cause was a conflict with some of the ports already being used. Also, the server is running Veritas backup software and that is causing a conflict.
Recreating ORB/cluster using the config tool solved these issues.
