Need Assistance. We are on 5.i. I am having difficulty creating User Objects in Business Objects on one universe. On some universes, I get the drop down box with the ‘add’ button. However, when I click on the User Objects button for our production universe (the one I need, of course!), nothing happens. I don’t see any permissions in Supervisor that have to do with Creating User Objects, and my designer says she doesn’t see any settings in the universe concerning this. So far, the Business Objects Help desk hasn’t had a solution. Any ideas?
You need to delete the associated *.udo file on the PC. If the size of this file is zero then it is corrupted. There is a *.udo file for each universe.

Kris, we have recently upgrade to BO 5.0.3 and we can no longer create user objects.
The European support desk have said it is a bug in 5.0.3 and we should upgrade. I’m surprised you are still having the problem in 5i. You can quote case no 302219738

We’ve had a similar issue on 5.03 (or was it 5.02?), which appeared to continue on into 5.1. Appeared to continue, that is, until we did this:
Delete the universe_name.udo file, and then try again. If you’re running a ZABO version of BO, this file may be on the server, instead of your hard drive.
When you click on the User-Defined Objects button in 5.0x, it was actually creating a *.udo file, even though nothing else was happening. The button doesn’t seem to work after the upgrade until after you delete this file.
