3.1 Migration

Hello,

We are planning for 3.1 migration and Installed it in a new box as a sanbox environment. If we are to simulate a POC for migration(XI R2 Prod to 3.1 Sandbox) by migrating a few reports from production to Sandbox do we still require to back up XI R2 CMS db and Audit database?

I have this question because the we are not making any change in the source (XI R2 Prod) then why the requirement to back up source???

hi there!

i’m not sure if xi r2 and xi 3.1 has the same auditing database structure. and regardign the CMS, i think it will be carried over when you transfer the reports to your sandbox (but for selected objects only).

maybe someone can make this clear.

Don’t need to. But you do back your stuff up as part of your DR strategy right?
