2 Slashes in filepaths using placeholders

The Temporary Directory location for CrystalReporsProcessingServer, DesktopIntelligenceProcessingServer and some other servers is set as:

%DefaultDataDir%/CrystalReportsProcessingServer/temp

The %DefaultDataDir% placeholder has the following path:

C:/Program Files/Business Objects/BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0/Data/

Question, wouldn’t the Temporary Directory path end up with two forward slashes after the Data directory and throw an error? For example:

C:/Program Files/Business Objects/BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0/Data//CrystalReportsProcessingServer/temp

We are seeing some Disk IO errors in the event log complaining when trying to write/read from files with a location as afore mentioned, i.e. with 2 slashes.
