Recently we upgraded server from Webi 2.5 to Webi 2.7. We had lot of
corporate docs created(using ZABO & full client) in earlier version.
After upgrade user can open all the documents on Infoview & also can
refresh them, but here is serious problem. When user tries to open the
document using ZABO on their desktop they get following error:
“A connection required to refresh this document is unavailable (DA0004)”
and report never refreshes. But it’s refreshing on Infoview finely.
Also I checked when user open Zabo from their desktop using
START—>PROGRAM–> BO …
they get following error first time when they hit OK on logon window
“Error returned by Zero Admin Business Object server”
in details it shows “0x8004012d”
Please help me with any suggestion, it very critical for our users.
We have also been experiencing the ZABO error: “Error returned by Zero Admin Business Object server”
in details it shows “0x8004012d”. We also have recently upgraded to 2.7.1
If you attempt the login a second time, it will work.
We are suspicious of the security pass through from our NT security layer to BO.
I have a case logged with Business Objects…no luck yet…

Hi All,

“Error returned by Zero Admin Business Object server”

How did you do the WebI server upgrade? Did you first uninstall the old
version, clean the registry, reboot, then installed the new version?
Another thing to look at is the ZABO client install. In order for ZABO
client to get upgraded, users will need to log into InfoView. Have them set
BusinessObjects as the type of report to be created. This is under
Options|Create and Edit Documents in Infoview. Then have them select
“Create Documents”. This will attempt to start the ZABO client and will
display a wizard to upgrade the ZABO client.
The problems might go away once the ZABO client software is upgraded.
Is this happening to all the ZABO user or just a few?
Ans: Yes it is happening with all users trying through ZABO. But if they
edit the report and remove some columns(dimensions) then it refreshes.
What method you used to install the ZABO, by SMS or the user download by
themselves?
We uninstalled everything on server and copied BOMAINkey & storage
directory, deleted everything from registry and then rebooted and
reinstalled the Webi 2.7 server. Then copied back storage directory & old
BOMAINkey.
users are clicking on create document then installing ZABO from there
onwards by following the steps.
Did the NT admin download the ZABO first to get the server.rkey file then
distribute it out to the user?
No, when user opens report using ZABO, it automatically downloads
server.rkey
Have you re-create the BOMain.key for 2.7.1?
no we copied the BOMAINkey from old version
Can the ZABO user create the new report from their desk?
yes they can create new report for same universe. but can’t publish it,
when they try to publish they get error “database error during export of
report. export stopped. report not exported. DX0025”
Hope I answered your questions, Please let me know if you can help me out
from this situation.

Manish,
One more question, I am assuming the user have the publish right to publish
the reports, can the full client user and webi user refresh and export the
reports? Also, I am assuming all your designer, supervisor, BCA are upgraded
to 5.1.5? If that’s the case, I will create the BoMain.key in the 5.1.5
version and copy it to the server. You might want to test it as a ZABO user
to download the ZABO again after you replaced the key. That DX0025 error is
kind of weird, based on the error message, it said about the repository is
full? or run out of free disk space? Oh, by the way, reboot the server to
see what happens.
They don’t provide you how to write the scripts to do that but they still
support the application itself. We have to use that method because we don’t
give the admin right to the user, they can’t download it via InfoView. Plus,
a lot of users having the problem to follow the instruction.
Yes users have publish & rehresh and even I am a general supervisor, I
can’t refresh or publish using ZABO. I created new BOMAIN.key and
transfered it to server. I didn’t restart the WEBI server after that.
still giving same error.
just now got response from BO, they are telling this is a bug and there is
a servic pack for this. But I am wondering any body had the same problem
with upgrade to 2.7 or is it happening to few clients.
Yes we are having the same problem w/ZABO “0x8004012d” and BO said it was a service pack 2.7.1 but that did not resolve the issue.

I’m having exactly the same errors at a client site and have been
working on it with BO support in Paris for the past two weeks. They
haven’t mentioned any patch to repair this problem so I’m also curious
as to the CSP release number.
Both the server and client installs of 5.1.5 were done on clean
(uninstall and del reg keys) Win2K machines. According to support, the
error (DA0004 no connection) occurs when the refresh query is being
executed.
Interestingly enough, the 5.1.5 ZABO clients didn’t fail initially, but
seemed to slowly gain errors until they can’t communicate at all.
Right now I’ve got my clients back online by rolling back to 5.1.4 ZABO
client by replacing the ZABOEN.cab file in the http-server folder on the
WEBI server. I have NOT uninstalled 2.7 Server and it works fine with the
5.1.4 (CSP3) clients.

David,
We are also having an issue with 5i giving an error on the first attempt
to connect to the server (2.7.1). It fails the first attempt, and works on the second.
Just this morning, I followed your advise and downgraded the ZABOEN.cab file on the WebI
server from 5.1.5 to 5.1.3. However, It did not work for me.
Do I have to use the 5.1.4 ZABOEN.cab file?
Or is there another step I am missing?
I was in the process of upgrading my webi server to 2.7.1 and installed on
a test server. I am getting exact same problem whenever I refresh a ZABO
created query(Connection Required to refresh is not available(da0004).
Just curious as to how Steve (Krandel) installed 2.7.1 on 5 installation
successfully. We all will appreciate your inputs, Steve.
Anyone who has updates on the CSP,please post that to list.
