The attached document can be used as a reference for creating search option with in the prompt.
The search option in the Prompt requirement came to us once. So at that time, I found the solution. I thought of giving this as a reference if something like is required for the report generation in webi.
Note:It was working fine for us, except that the search option needs to be clicked twice. Right now I am not able to test, but for sure this works nicely. As I used the same in last to last year when the requirement came to me.
