I am having trouble with a List of Values. When I run a report against Univ. A and click on the ‘values’ button for transaction number the customized List of Values from a totally separate universe is displayed. How could this happen? I am using 4.2.1 and Oracle 7.3. I did a scan/repair on the document and universe domains. I also did an integrity check on the Univ. A. Another strange thing that started happening is that sometimes when I open the universe in Designer it takes a lot longer that usual and on the bottom of the screen it says ‘fetching key info…’ Are these problems related?
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Open the universe in designer. Check the object properties and select edit list of values…see where this is coming from…it may be that it is directed to the wrong place.

The list of values is correct when I export the universe. If I then import the universe, when I edit the object it tells me it is removing obsolete values and then it displays a 3rd object instead of the one it displayed before I exported it or the object that belongs to a different universe that it displays when I click the values button.

Was the document built against the other Universe & changed to run against the current one? If this is the case & your document uses multiple queries (i.e. more than 1) which share a prompt(s), their is a BO bug which will Incorrectly update the list of values when using the Change Source (Universe) functionality. Fix (with limitation) : When a single prompt is shared by 2 different data providers (more than 1 query),
if a change source/universe is performed on the first data provider it has to be
done on the second one also before a refresh is performed.

These problems are not related - we have had the same problems now for the last couple of months. It seems that the list of values and documents are stored in the same way in the repository and if the id’s of these LOV’s and Documents are ‘mixed’ up, you get this problem with the wrong list of values. The only solution that we found worked, is to show the users how to correct the list of values in BO using the TOOLS/Universes/List of Values option. This is a known bug and should be fixed in the next releases of BO
