what is performance tuning? how to do this

     What is performance tuning how can BO reporter check this?i mean how the report is generating, faster/slower? 
     What is the process to do performance tuning? what are steps required ?

I kindly suggest trying a search on BOB first or look at the Reporter FAQ.

To summarize there are two categories when it comes to performance:

A) Query performance
–> Database tuning and universe tuning

B) Calculation engine performance (within the report)
–> Look at variables, formulas, alerters, multiple data providers, etc.
