http://boserver:8080/dwswbobje/services/session and tried it. I set the report navigation link to http://boserver:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/scripts/openDocument.jspThis is the location i see my opendocument file.
But still i get the following error

Hello Dwayne,

can You describe where I can find the menu item described in Your post. i Even don’t know in which application to search for…

Thanks,

First, welcome to B:bob:B!

Second, I assume you are referring to this post, right? It would be either the Excel, Word, or PowerPoint application, whichever you are using. With Live Office installed, you would see the BusinessObjects menu / toolbar referred to in the post. I hope that helps.

I was wondering when you said “deploying the current webapp” what exactly you mean?

Is there a live office module? My issue still remains to be that on the BOE server itself, Live office works with WebI doc’s just grand… but on any other machine that isn’t the server, with the path configured(what I believe to be correctly) doesnt work… and I get an object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I’d like to believe I’m just overlooking some small fine detail…

What should I see in my web services folder? I did a search for dswsbobje and found it in "Program Files\Bus Obj…\Tomcat\webapps\

however when I go in there, I have a META-INF a WEB-INF a fingerprint.jsp a happydsws.jsp and an index.html file, and that’s it… Just trying to get an idea of what other folks may have… I’m graspin for straws here.

Dinesh,
I’m tomcat as well and I got this working… instead of using openDocument.jsp use openDocument.htm

I get a different error when using jsp, but worked perfectly fine using the htm.

Cheers,
-Derek

Hi,

When i am trying to open a webi report using live office i am getting following error:-

GetDocumentInformation exception.

I have no problem to open a crystal report. I have changed localhost to my webserver name from Business Object—Option–Webserver.

What i am missing?

Thanks for the help.

I am trying to access webi documents through Live Office & I get the following error:

0x80004003
Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

I can access crystal reports without a problem. I can see the webi reports but when I click the report and click next I get the above error.

Thank you

Did you get it to work?

When I try to insert a WebI document I get “0x80040154 Class not registered”. Working in XIR2.

Google shows similar errors in other software.

Also: Crystal reports, insert view works fine but when I try to navigate to the object (right click on the view and Navigate to Object), it gives me "Requested resource not available error.

My opendocument URL is here.
http://MyServer:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/scripts/openDocument.htm

Thanks for your help.

Got the Navigate path issue resolved.

Path on my system is: http://MyServer:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp

Still trying to resolve “0x80040154 Class not registered” error.

I have to ask the real question.

Why do you want to do this anyway.

LiveOffice doesn’t do anything useful with WebI reports. It doesn’t display the report or report parts. It simply dumps the dataprovider.

Nothing useful with LiveOffice and WebI will be availalbe unitl next quarter.

I need this data dump in Excel. Need to be able to refresh the data from excel.

Reason - We are showing users how vast BO is and showing the Live Office is supposed to attract users attention??

Please Advice. Thanks.

We tried that and got users all excited about LiveOffice. Then we actually tried it and it was a disaster.

We’re not even going to discuss LiveOffice again until it actually does something with WebI reports.

We’re taking the same tact with PM. It’s been so buggy that we’re discouraging users from using it…

Another product that looks great in a demo but fails to deliver in real-life.

I think my webservice address is wrong.

http://MyServer:8080/dswsbobje/services/session

I do not see the services folder in dswsbobje.

Or may be I should register some .dll file. :hb:

Nithya (BOB member since 2005-09-07)

Nithya:

http://MyServer:8080/dswsbobje/services/session

is the default Webservice but you might not need :8080

Just try

http://MyServer/dswsbobje/services/session

Hope it works

Thanks for your response. It did not work that way :frowning:

The link: http://MyServer:8080/dswsbobje/services/session
works fine till http://MyServer:8080/dswsbobje/

Services folder is the one that is missing. Is my installation wrong!!

There are 2 “dswsbobje” folders in my Tomcat folder.

  1. Tomcat\Webapps folder
  2. Tomcat\work\cataline\localhost.

Both do not have services folder. Their is a session.wsdl file in dswsbobje\WEB-INF\classes folder. I wonder if this is what I need to point my Web service too. That did not work also.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Nithya (BOB member since 2005-09-07)

http://MyServer:8080/dswsbobje/services/session in explorer gives -

"session

Hi there, this is an AXIS service!

Perhaps there will be a form for invoking the service here… "

Do I need to learn anything big. Please advice.

Thanks.
