WEBI Installation and HTTP-daemon

Hello Everyone,

I have two configuration questions regarding WEBI :

Primo.

Can I seperate the WEBI-cluster manager from the HTTP-daemon (Microsoft IIS) ?

The reason for this is to seperate the Webserver (located in the so called DMZ - means before the firewall) and the WEBI-cluster manager. The WEBI-clustermanager shall be located withing the companies network. This company network is completley shielded from the extranet by a firewall.

Second.
If the ‘primo’ question can be positively answered, is it possible to access that same WEBI-cluster manager from an other IIS-server at the same time ?

This would mean that users from within the companies network would be able to share the same configuration as the one accessed by users from the out-side-world (sya internet).

Kind regards,

This can be done with WebIntelligence Extranet Edition. This release of the software is basically WebI but has changes required to function:

  1. Seperatly from the cluster and allow it to communicate through the
fire wall back to your main cluster.
  2. Special licensing needed to support Extranets and what you are trying
    to do.

Call your sales representative. According to BO its not “offically” there yet but coming really soon.
