WebI Error WI0504

Thanks to one and all who responded to my earlier postings. We really made great strides forward. One last hump…and here it is:

After I log-in to WebI, I see a list of reports under the ‘Corporate Documents’ tab. When I click on any of the reports, I get the error message:

‘No Full Client Report Service Available: Please contact your
Administrator to enable this module (WI0504) returned by function import report’

The login id has access to Business Objects, Business Query and WebIntelligence (setup in the Supervisor module)

In the WebiServer.log, we see some errors such as:

IIOP GateKeeper failed:
org.omg.CORBA.INITIALIZE[…]

wiqt has been killed

Also, I’m unable to run the BO Administrator on this WebI. The browser just hangs and hangs and hangs…

The environment details:
Repository is on Oracle 8.0.5.1.0
Solaris ver 2.6
Netscape Enterprise Server ver 3.6
WebIntelligence ver 2.5 for Solaris

Bala:

I beleive in order to open full client docs you need to install a cluster node on windows NT . It should be a hetrogenous enviroment. The Solaris install can only work with Webi docs.
I hope this helps.

Got this from the error guide I just happened to be on that page…

Cause 1: From WEBINTELLIGENCE, you tried to open a BUSINESSOBJECTS document, an
action that requires launching BUSINESSOBJECTS. However, the supervisor has restricted your user profile from using the application by disabling it. Action: See your supervisor to obtain access rights to BUSINESSOBJECTS.

Cause 2: You have attempted to perform an action that requires BOManager, a service
which is currently not activated for the WEBINTELLIGENCE system. BOManager is a scalable, server-based version of BUSINESSOBJECTS that offers display and refresh capabilities for BUSINESSOBJECTS documents via WEBINTELLIGENCE. In general, it is automatically started whenever you launch WEBINTELLIGENCE.
Action: Activate BOManager from the BusinessObjects Services Administrator tool.

Cause 3: The CORBA call failed to function. Action: Stop the web server and and entire WEBINTELLIGENCE system, then start it again.

Bala,

I am getting the same error when I try to open a corporate document. I’m the general supervisor so the first action mentioned in the error messages guide isn’t relevant.

I tried to use the WebI administrator also and can’t get it to work on either the Sun Solaris cluster manager or my NT server cluster node.

So, if you discover the solution please either post it to the listserv or send me some e-mail detailing what you did.

Repository on Sybase 11.9.2
Solaris version 2.7 (I know it’s only supported for 2.6 but since we are having the same problems, that’s probably not part of the problem.)
Apache Server 1.3.9
WebIntelligence ver 2.5 for Solaris
Cluster Manager on Sun Solaris
Cluster Node on NT server

Fellow BOers!

The posting below helped us a great deal! Thanks so very much. We are due to go production in another three weeks. Based on this message and subsequent confirmation from Business Objects, we decided to purchase an NT server and hope to get WebI installed in a Cluster Configuration in time.

Let’s all make the best use of our collective talent and knowledge for everyone’s advancement.
