WebI 2 error refreshing v4.1 documents - Reply

We also had this same error. This is the solution (at least it worked for us).

As you know when you install WebIntelligence you have to install it using a local admin ID. Sometimes this admin ID doesn’t have all the privileges WebIntelligence need to install all the files and modify the registry. What you need to do is un-install WebIntelligence and reinstall it with a user id that has these privileges

  • Act as part of the operating system and * Log on as a batch job.
    (You can modify your Administrator user id by going to NT’s user manager → policies and clicking on the show advanced user rights check box)

Then run the servconf.exe process and increase the Non-Interactive heap size to at lease 3072 or 4096. This has solved the identical error we were getting.

I am receiving an error when trying to refresh a v4.1.3 document in WebI v2.0. The message I receive when trying to refresh is: “Internal Error Unable to launch server process (returned by function Import Report)”. I am able to refresh the same report using v4.1.3 (fat client) on the server. The error comes almost immediately after I attempt to refresh.

What Yelak has stated is true and can all be accomplished by running the SERVCONF.EXE. But remember to login to the NT server LOCALLY and not into the domain. Once logged in locally follow the directions found in the readme file under the server directory of the WebI CD.
