The easiest way I found was (in oracle) to just make backups of each user I had for my domains, including security…
I just loaded that into another instance, pointed my bomain at that, and off I went… BUT, make sure you update your domain connections, within Supervisor, to point to the new instance… That info carries over, and if you are not careful, you will update the document / universe domains in your production instance.
Here’s a question we should probably know the answer to, but thought others of you may have tripped over before…
In prepartion for moving to 5.0, we are, of course, going to test out the upgrade. However, the sad fact is that we never had a test repository (one wonders how we got from 3.11 to 4.1. ). We do, however, have a duplication of the BOADMIN schema (the repository tables) in our test Data Warehouse, since all the tables from our production environment were copied over there at one point. So, the question is, can we take advantage of the existence of the tables in test and somehow use that test repository from BusObj Reporter, Designer and Supervisor, without having actually created domains from within Supervisor? Or, do we really need to take those steps and build a new repository from scratch?
Thanks!
