For one of our applications, we installed Business Objects 4.1.3 on NT under WinFrame architecture. We used “%username%” to specify the Business Objects Folders. But the variable is not being intrepreted by Business Objects Setup program. It is trying to create a folder named “%username%\BusinessObjects” instead of substituting the user name with actual user id. Do we need to specify the environment variable differently for the Setup to work correctly? Our current alterative is to let the users do a ‘custom’ setup and modify the username correctly. Obviously this is not an elegant solution.
Are you editing the registry?? You need to use “%username%\BusinessObjects”. We’re running it in a winframe env and our settings have worked.
