User restictions

How do I set a user group’s restriction on a universe - by indicating e.g. that a certain user group is only able to access where TABLE.A_FIELD = ‘specific value’

Are you talking about Row Level security? If yes, start here.

Yep it’s universe overloads. You need to setup those restrictions within the Designer XI. Create your restriction and then select the group you want to applied the restrictions to.
