I had a report which was using Universe A. I had another universe B. Now I deleted A and renamed B as A and toggled the universe in Reporter and refreshed the report. It worked just fine. But when I published the same universe, and tried to run the report it didnt work. Any clue whats happening.
I think you have an ID problem. You have published the new universe B with an id different from A and then, when you refresh the report, the rep file is linked with the old univers (A) and then, you have the error message (can’t find univers)
Just as a best practice:
Never delete a universe as long as you have any reports with data providers pointing to that universe. First you repoint all data providers of all reports to the new universe, only then should you delete/retire the “old” universe.
Then, unfortunately – you get the error message you’ve reported. Having a filename / universe name from Universe “B”-become-“A” is not enough, because of the internal universe-id that you don’t see.
Andreas is suggesting that you get your old Universe A back. You might have to restore the repository, too, I’m not sure. But you really need to try to get back to square-one, and then repoint your reports to the alternate universe.
Alternatively, you might have to write the reports over again.
Poke around some - you might have a copy of the old universe some place in a different universe folder on your PC or on your server. Also, if the universe has been deleted (not in Supervisor) you can still open a local copy with a General Supervsior ID
