Unable to open document

Hi All,

Getting the following error while trying to open a document… any help ?

“Unable to Open document due to unknown Error”

I had this error sometime back. You wouldn’t be able to open this document in anyways!!!. Just ask whoever sent this document to you, to send another copy. Or see if you have it saved anywhere else. It is some unknown error. Vinay.

There should be some reason for this to happen… There should be some way out.

You don’t indicate what database you are using, but we came across this error with DB2/OS390. It occurred when one machine had the DB2CODEPAGE variable set and the other did not.

You make me say this again…“For some things with ‘Business Objects’ and ‘Microsoft’ there is no reason WHY. Just take a deep breath and start again seems to be the solution”. It’s like you reboot your machine if your OS is Windows (or any MS product), without reasoning out why. Anyways, this is not a forum for such comments.

The error isnt " Not authorized to pen document". to make a save as for all users…

The database is Oracle 7.3.4

Ask the person who created and saved the document to check ‘Save for all users’ checkbox while saving. This may help. -Abhijit

Ashish,

Ask the sender to ‘Save for all users’ OR login as General Supervisor to open the document.

Listers :

One of my user is having a strange problem. She is able to refresh the report but when she clicks on Edit Data Provider icon, BO just hangs…

She is able to import the universes as a user: BO was re-installed to solve this problem…

Any help in this regards will be greatly appreciated.
