The document domain doesn't exist on same data account ..

Hi All ,
While importing one of the kernel universes i’m getting a warning 'The document domain doesn’t exist on same data account .You cannot export your list of values ’ .
Though after that i’m able to import successfully . But when i’m trying to export the same universe its giving the same warning again and not exporting this universe .Its just saving the universe again and coming
back to the universe again . Can anybody let me know what might be the reason for this ; it is to be noted that i’m using the same account to login into designer which i was using when this universe was working fine …Any suggestions will be appreciated …

Thanks,
Vikas

Vikas,

If you have supervisor access go to the repository and check to make sure your security domain, document and universe password and id matches. If not changes it. You might have recently changed your bomain.key.

This message occurs because when you export a universe to the repository, BusinessObjects stores the Lists of Values associated with that universe in the document domain. In order to do this, though, it needs to have the tables for the document domain in the same database account as the tables for the universe domain are in (the terminology depends on what database platform you’re using).

To check this, you can log into Supervisor using your General Supervisor account and select Repository from the Tools menu. It will tell you which database(s) your different domain live.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

At times even if all the domains are defined correctly, as a result of some actions BO loses the link between the universe and document domains (I have not been able to figure out why). The solution that has worked for me is to delete the .lov files in the ~BusinessObjects\UserDocs<universe domain><universe name> folder and then once again try to export the universe.

You can give it a try. Hope it works…

Thanks All … for your prompt response … It worked …fortunately it was just a slip in the doc domain connection only …
Unlike in Universe domain (in which the connect string was “iw1p”) it was “Iw1p” …
Arefi ,your idea clicked …
thanks once again …
