Hi,

Are you talking about LOV (list of values) displayed in a hierarchical view?

I don’t know that prompt can be displayed in this format. Only LOV.

Can i get in tabular View

Yes, you can. You need to go to Designer and open the properties of the object that has LOV. Then go to tab Properties, Display button and here you have Tabular view or Hierarchical view option.

Thanks Marek

S its asks me multipe times to eneter the prompt values. in Webi.

Can i have cascading prompt in Webi

This is my exact problem.

I have a query1 which prompts for state.

I have a query 2 which prompts for County.

But wats the issue is that it asks me twice to enter the state both in query 1 and query 2. since i am using cascading prompt in Location heirarchy State -> County - > location.

Same case wen i have my query 3 for city it propmts me to enter the state and county.

but i need it like this.

wen i enter State name in query1 it must show me the counties in that sate for query2 and cities in query3 belonging to that counties.

These query 1 query2 and query 3 are three different data providers.

Can this be done in Web Inetlligence.

Pls help!!!

Thanks in adavnce

Yes, you can.

Such question was asked numerous times so please use search to find the topics that deal with cascading prompts.

I did a search but i couldnt find any reply for my problem!!!

This is our exact issue which we face.

We have three different querries.

Q1 , Q2 , Q3.

In Q1 where clause we prompt the user to give the State value.

In Q2 where clause we prompt the user to give the County Value.

In Q3 where clause we prompt the user to give the city value.

when we use cascading prompt it prompt in Q1 It prompts the user to enter the state value(here state is the parent top hierarchy)

For Q2 it asks the user to enter both State value as well as county value.(what happens here is it asks the user to enter the state value and displays the Counties of that particular state)

County is the next level after state( state -> county)

For Q3 again it asks the user to enter the state value , county value and city value. (what happens here is since City is created with a cascading prompt it prompts the user again to enter from the top hierarchy)

State->County->City

But what the client expects is when State name is entered in Q1 it must display the values of counties of that particular state in Q2 and when user enters the county value it must display the Cities of that county in Q3

Is this Possible!!!

Thanks!!!

Looks like your cascading prompts are not set properly.

Do have a read of this Designer FAQ which is by the way sticky topic in the Semantic Layer / Universe Designer forum:
How do I create cascading or nested prompts? This should put you on the right track. :yesnod:

Hi,

You asked the same question here using another BOB account.

Please do not cross-post. It leads to fragmented discussions and is against our forum rules.

So I am going to lock this topic now.
