Sorting objects

Hi,
How to sort the objects in Universe either in ascending or descending order, and do we have to use a function or what are the other options available in business objects universe of XIR2.

You can’t out of the box. You may be able to do something with the Designer SDK.

Why you would want to sort them in this way I have no idea.

The ethos behind BO is to put them in an order the users will understand, i.e. Product class contains products, Customer class contains customer objects e.t.c.

Hi,

I have to sort the objects in each folder in designer in alphabetical order is there anyway we can do that or is this possible only with column values like the sort option we use it in reports please let me know.

Hi

You can sort on the colum values, for sorting the objects in the Designer the answer is No. You needs to sort it manually.

There is a small workaround that, you can put all your class and objects in the Excel sheet and Sort it in the order you want, and use some macro utility avilable in the BOB Download area to design your universe.

The download is avilable in the link.

I never tried this kind of workaround, but you can have a try.
