Setting characteristics of RTF file

Is there any way to preset the characteristics when a Business Objects document is saved as an RTF file? I’d like to do things like set the document into landscape format.

You can do that once you open it in Word.

Remember that when exporting it as an RTF BusinessObjects will strip off any Headers or Footers in your report. Just do a dump of the body of the report.

Which is why we put the header information as part of the body of the report so it can be “exported”. Even then you’ll loose the page numbers and column headings for each page.

After hearing that, at the time, it wasn’t a big priority for BusinessObjects to work on, we had to get a tech writer to create a VBA script in Word so the report can be formated as it looks in BusinessObjects. It works about 90% of the time due to the variations in the output.

Until BusinessObjects can to a direct export to Word, this method was the best resolution we could find to keep the users interested in using BusinessObjects.

Good Luck,

Any possibility of making the VBA script available? I have had an enhancement request with BusObj about improving their RTF exports for ages and can’t understand why some of the ‘minor’ changes haven’t been implemented. There are commands in RTF for the page sizings/orientation etc so it can be done - obviously BusObj don’t bother though.
