Security warning

I have a user who is accessing his database via remote wireless dial-up modem. Finally last week we got Business Objects to come up in a reasonable amount of time (previously it was hanging after login). It was working. Today he tried to login to the full client and got the following message:

Warning: local security information not up to date. Retrieving data for Local Security Information, please wait.

10 minutes later he was still waiting. As far as we know nothing concerning B/O was changed.

Has anybody seen this message before? What did it mean and what did you do to solve it?

We are on B/O 5.0.1, Sybase 11.9.

Debbie,

What is the location of the four security files for this user… are they all set to local? or shared? If you have a user who is a road warrior (i.e. remote laptop type person) then all security files (including the BOMain.key) should be set to local.

If this isn’t the problem, let me know.

Ang.
