Security in BOE XI 3.0

HI BO Gurus,

We have created new folder structure and imported reports network drive. Now we need to setup security for these reports. And this is the first time I am working on security. The folder structure is as:

Legacy Conversion (Main folder)

  • NA (sub-folder1)
    —FI (sub-folder-1) (wid1, wid2, … widn)
    —SD (sub-folder-2)(wid1, wid2, … widn)
    —HR (sub-folder-3)(wid1, wid2, … widn)

  • Australia (sub-folder-2)
    —FI (sub-folder-1) (wid1, wid2, … widn)
    —SD (sub-folder-2) (wid1, wid2, … widn)
    —HR (sub-folder-3) (wid1, wid2, … widn)

And we have Groups as:

BO Analyst
BO Developer
BO Viewer
Universe users

NA should see the Australia folders & other objects. But Australia should not see the NA folders.
Can anyone please help me how to setup security for this and are there any manuals that tells setting up security from scratch.

Could you please explain what you meant by this?

I thought NA and Australia are folders not groups. Will you please clarify.

There is no substitute for the Admin Guide and lots of trial and error. I can’t stress enough that you will want a sandbox where you can easily restore back to a “clean” install. Trust me, you can easily paint yourself into a corner.
