How to set up security at the universe level in XIR2

You have to create groups using Central Management Console (CMC) and then you can define universe security constraints using the Universe Designer.

If you have a more specific question, you’ll be likely to get more specific answers. Broad questions like this really aren’t much fun to answer because there’s no challenge.

Hi

You can use the Row/Column level restrictions also on your Universe…

A) Try a search on BOB, suggested keyword: row-level security

B) Look at BOBs download section for a presentation by Steve Krandel or see here

C) My recommendation: Implement security directly at the database level, using for example Oracles VPD (Virtual Private Databases), etc. This way all applications accessing your data (not just BusinessObjects) will be “hit” by security.

A) Come on, try a search (use your favorite search engine)

B) Ask your Oracle dBA, he/she should at least be able to point you into a direction :!:
