Retrieve Records within Last X months up to Now

We are using XIR3 with MS SQL Server 2008 R2

There is a lot of reports that allow users to access records within previous X month where X is a variable. Say for the following example

  1. Retrieve sales records within previous 4 months.
  2. Retrieve sales records within January/February/March. (Today is 1-Jul)

Users could refresh reports wither by themselves manually or created by schedule tasks. We would like to ask whether there are generic way to handle the task in universe level.

Create a object in the universe that gives you relative dates based on the selection. Check this thread:
