restrict LOV with object where clause

Hello,

I know it is not done to use the object where clause, but if you create a special LOV object and you to restrict the choices the user can make, why not use the where clause?

Example:
Country City
US New York
US Denver
France Paris
France Lion

When you add Country = ‘US’ to the where clause of the LOV object, only two choices can be made by the user.

No special LOV files are created and no export to repository problems.

I believe what you are describing is “Cascading Prompts”. There are a number of documents/topics that describe how to achieve this in detail. Take a look using that as your search criteria.

This is a prime example.
