Report Performance with lot of Prompts

Hi to everyone,

I am getting strange behaviour of report that’s related to performance. I have a full client report with 8 prompts and 11 dataproviders. When I run this report (set to “refresh on open”) it’s taking lot of time to show up the prompts dialog in full client as well as in webi. The problem is since I set to “refresh on open” it’s downloading universe twice for each prompt showing status “updating data” in the status bar. When I disable the option “refresh on open” it’s working fine and prompts dialog comes in a second when i do manual refresh. I disabled refresh and user edit options in LOV’s. I spoke to BO support and they were recommending to upgrade to latest version. Currently using full client version 5.1.4 and WebI 2.7 . I really appreciate ur ideas on resolving this issue.

The suggestion from BusObj to upgrade might indeed be the key. I can’t explain the specifics, but I believe 5.1.6 had a significant improvement in the speed with which the prompts were displayed.
