Relative Prompts.

Hi All,
I want to create relative Prompts.
I have 4 prompts Profile Group, Profile Type, Weather Zone and Internal Id

Data :
1000’s of Internal id’s are under each Weather Zone,
5 Weather Zones for each Profle type,
4 Profile types for each Profile Group.

I have 4 prompts

  1. Select Profile Group :
  2. Select Profile Type :
  3. Select Weather Zone :
  4. Select Internal id :

If a user selects Group then, Profile type prompt should display the relevant values pertaining to the selected Group. similarly for Weather Zone and Internal Id’s ?.

Any ideas please.

The common term for this kind of functionality is “cascading prompts.” Do a search for “cascad* prompt*” (without quotes) and you will find many past topics (steps and limitations) to review.

Hi Andreas/Dwayne,
I have gone thru all the postings on Cascading prompts and tried the same cscd prompts method in the reports. But, Is there any way to generate/refresh values in the second prompt, when user selects the value in the first prompt ?. I have 4 cascading prompts in the report and I’m getting lot of prompts to be answered. When i have to select value for the fourth prompt then again need to select values for the above three prompts. (Total 10 + cumulative prompts to be answered to execute report)
Any ideas please.

Nope, it’s not possible to do this unless you do a BIG SDK solution.
