procedure for designing a universe

We have an client server application used by customers, the backend is oracle database( 12 tables). Now the customer’s want to use BO for
standard reports and adhoc reporting needs

I am pulled in now to design the universe. My question is, what are the important things i need to consider when desigining a universe. If somebody could advise, i would really appreciate it.

Any techniques or books for good practises in designing a universe?

You can get the universe Project plan and check list in the link.

Universe Proj. Plan & Checklist

The Project Plan includes most tasks one would encounter in creating a BO Universe and some canned Full Client / Deski reports. The Guides Project - Universe Designers contains considerations in setting up the project team and creating the Universe etc. The Checklist is a list of Best Practises that should be completed / used on every universe before go live. Any deviances should be listed for future reference / support issues.
