PRM file vs SBO file

What is the difference between .PRM file and .SBO file which are present in Business Object folder? Can we edit/delete these files.

I apologize if this question does not belong to this forum
Thanks in advance for any tips/suggestion in this regard

Hi,
.prm is the Parameter File , which contains the Functions used by the objects in the Universe.

This is more of a Designer question, so I will move the topic there.

In addition to any information you get here, I would also suggest reading the specific database guide (pdf file) that was installed on your machine (C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Online Guides for a default v5 installation). It goes through each of the options in the .prm file, .sbo file (sorry, not familiar with .dbo file). In any case you will find that it would be a bit dangerous to edit / delete them unless you know what you’re doing.

The question I have is:
What is it you are trying to accomplish that makes you think of modifying the *.prm or *.sbo files?

In addition to that which version of Business Objects are you using?

I just have a small question in it can we edit .sbo and .prm files for a universe built on top of Bex query designer for improving the performance
as we edit in the case of a Oracle data base

If we can edit those files what are the xtrimities we can edit

Thanks In Advance

There is no OLAP universe involved if you use the better functionality of Webi 4 directly against SAP BEx queries (via BICS). So that point becomes mute.
