Hi,
An optional prompt can be created only in query in WebI, not in a universe.

Not true, you can create them in the universe, but they will not parse and also if it’s the only prompt you end up with in your report and you don’t answer it, it will generate an error.
Hi, I have created two optional objects in the universe and when i used these objects in the report query and trying to run it i am getting this error:
“Removing skipped prompts from the query will introduce new prompts. This introduces complexities that cannot be supported. (Error: WIS 00027)”
Here are the object definitions in the universe:
Object1->concat(@Prompt(‘Enter either Name:’,‘A’,‘Reporting\LName name’,Mono,Free,not_Persistent,User:0,optional),’%’)
Object2->concat(@Prompt(‘Or en…

Hi all,
I am trying to create an optional prompt on the universe side. I have been reading through some material and below is the prompt I have created but when I try to parse I get an error about ‘parsing default parameter (7th parameter)’.
I have tried a few different combinations but I cannot get it to parse. Can anyone see where I am going wrong?
Many thanks!
Jen
Code:

How can we define a optional prompt in universe?
I am using the last versione of BO XI 3.1 (included fix pack 1.2)
The syntax should be --> @Select(Batch Type\Batch Type Code) = @Prompt(Batch Type,'a,'Batch Type\Batch Type Code,mono,constrained,Persistent,{},User:1,Optional)
This should be the syntax that Webi uses when I create an optional filter from webi.
I tried to use this syntax into the univers designer and it does not work.
This is the errore message:
Query 1 - RDM - Inventory…

OK, thanks for correcting me.
However, what’s the use of optional prompts created in a unvierse if they have this limitations? Even you wrote in one of your posts:

You are correct Marek, I don’t see any use myself.
I think the tool (referring to Universe) should have a proper Optional Prompt functionality (so that people don’t have to use Wildcards and all or any kind of workaround).
I wonder when will this get implemented.
