This is the error I get whenever I am trying to create an OLE DB connection,
SQL Server 2000, BOXI r1 Winnt server 2000
Any thoughts on what needs to be done
Thanks
ODBC is working fine

First up, perhaps check you have a file called OLEDB.SBO installed, and that inside it there are references to SQL SERVER 2000…

Yes I did check for the file oledb.sbo it is there and the following entry is also there

<DataBase Active="Yes" Name="MS SQL Server 2000">

Is this the reference you were referring to.
The thing is I come to the point where it says server is responding and then this error occurs.

Thanks.

Yes that is what I was referring to. The only thing that is very clear is that cnxsrv.dll is very unhappy. :wah:

Any thing we can do about it…
Thank you.

The Unhandled Exception error is a very vague one… I am afraid I can’t help you. Let’s see what others have to say.

Have you tried a Search? Suggested keyword: c0000005

We also have a FAQ in the Reporter forum’s FAQ: Reporter on this Troubleshooting Unhandled Exception Errors.

That FAQ has a hyperlink to another Reporter topic: Unhandled Exception Error C0000005 - how to fix it!.

Here is what I had done until now to resolve this issue.

Removed Oledb file and copied it from the machine where ole connections were possible.

Did the same to copy the cnxsrv.dll nothing seems to work.
Have not found much on c00005 errors regarding dll’s
Any suggestions are appreciated.
