I am using teradata … could u please tell me how could i write the following
select current_date (this query is used to get current date in teradata)
in the select clause of object current_date in Universe.
In short what is the function for current date in universe if database is teradata
I referred the links u gave me …in that universe “trunc(current_date)” is used to get current date but its not working

Are you getting any error?
In designer the object may not parse (as it doesn’t reference any table), just save it and use it in the report it should work.
