Objects Appering any where in the Document

Why does Business Objects seem to insert new objects added to the data
provider randomly in the report? The best example is: I build a query,
run it and get a report. I then go back into the Data Provider and
insert a new Object in the Results Objects. I then re-run the query. If
I look at the data cube the inserted object appears in the correct order
that it was inserted. However, in the report the new objects can appear
anywhere. Sometimes it is added to the end of the report, middle of the
report or to the beginning.

Thanks

    Glenn,
This happens even just with Dimensions. If I have three

dimensions in a report run it and then if I edit it to add another
object, BO will put the object any where in the report. I have tested
this on the infamous “Island Resort” universe. To reproduce the issue,
you need to keep trying for a couple of times by adding objects and
running the query and you will see what I mean.

If my understanding is correct, when you add new items in the query
BusinessObjects will add it into your report in different locations
depending on the type of object it is. If it is a dimension object,
it
will try to add it after the dimension objects and before the measure
objects. If it is a measure object, it will add it after the measure
objects. I am not sure what it does if you have the dimension and
measure
objects mixed in the table. Hope this provides a little bit of
information
for you.
