We are in the process of implementing NT Authentication. To use this technique, the supervisor userid has to match the Network userid. Currently, we are using master number (6-digit number) as the Network id to identify an employee.
Does anyone know if there is a way to set an alias that BusinessObjects can use in conjunction with the userid in the repository for user listings???
(NOTE: NT Authentication be used with 4.1x; We are using Oracle 7.1 and BO 4.1.3.)
Thanks!!!

With NT Authentication it automatically takes your NT userid and passes it into Webi. There are times when we need to sign on as our general supervisor (to modifiy categories, default user options) or as another user to see what they can see. How have other companies gotten around this?
We have users with multiple userids just so they can automatically have different connections to the same universe (the universe can be used against multiple databases and the user needs to see both at various times).
Anyone have any ideas on this?

Hey, Steve.
I’m not sure where I remember this from, but I think if you press the ALT key (or some other key, like SHIFT or CTL, or a combination of) as you press the login button, it bypasses the NT Authentication and forces the login prompt to pop up.
Not sure if it works with Webi, but it’s worth a shot… Let us know!
Cheers,
Luis
