Hey Folks…
I’m creating a new Universe and performed the insert table function within the Universe structure window. How do I get the table’s moved to the Universe window? There’s over 100 tables and I’d like to find a way, rather than move them one by one, to get them to the Universe window. Thanks…

In v4.1 you can multiple select tables and then drag-and-drop them into the universe window. You’ll have to verify that functionality if you have an older version; I’m not sure what versions it is available in. I find 4.1 added/put back some nice usability features.
Hope that helps,
Don May

You can always Cntrl-click (and Shift-Click) and select multiple tables before you use the insert button (or drag to the Universe window). The only other solution is to use an external strategy. If you did, you’d have to type in all of the table names you want to include. I think the first choice is much easier.
Ever try a SELECT ALL and then drag/drop them to the Universe Side? You can do this from the Edit Menu or by using CTRL-A while the structure side is active. You can ALSO select multiple tables through rubberbanding them or Control clicking (to select multiple single items) on them.
Laura,
Yes you can do this. Just go into the view data (the cube) and click on
definition. you should see something that says universe click on the …
button and it will come up with a list of universes. Select the universe
you want it to access and click ok. You have now changed the universe that
the report references.
Is there a way to make a report look at a different universe without having
to start over from scratch? I had to upgrade a driver and created a
different universe because of this. Now I want the report to access the new
universe. The tables/data items are the same.
Thank you in advance,
Laura

OPen the Report
Click on View Data Cube
Click on Definitions
Click on the Universe that you need (you should have exported the universe)
You are all set to go…
Bear in mind that both the universe(S) should have the same objects else you
would have some error messages .
Hope this helps.

If the object names are the same, then you can do a View->Data. On the Definition Tab, you’ll see the universe name in a gray box. Click on the … and then you can choose a different universe.
I have already gotten 4 and they are all saying the same thing. I want to
thank everyone for responding so quickly. This ‘easy’ problem to you was
going to be a major big deal in a couple of days!!
